My Story
My name is Dovydas Raudonis. I'm an independent artist passionate about storytelling through sound experiences. My journey began at a young age when I was enrolled in music school, where I developed a strong foundation in music scoring, recording, sound design, and engineering. It all started with my first after-school activity—classical choir singing for 12 years. There, I immersed myself in music theory, history, and performance.
After two years, I was required to pick up a secondary instrument, which led me to the piano and I played it for 10 years. Learning piano enhanced my solo performance skills, technical abilities, and sense of rhythm and dynamics in music. Eight years later, I picked up the guitar for the first time. This was a breakthrough moment that opened up countless new possibilities and interests. I began to grow my improvisation and songwriting skills, composing and performing my own songs for competitions and events.
With time, I acquired my first recording equipment, diving into the world of recording engineering. I quickly learned recording techniques, mixing, mastering, and working with equipment. This allowed me to record and collaborate with other musicians from my city, helping them publish their music and set up live performances. It mainly consisted of rock and jazz music that wanted to record live music and performances.
As my journey continued, I explored new collaborations, performing in musicals, bands, and festivals. I also joined a folk band, where I expanded my repertoire by learning instruments such as the mandolin, melodica, harmonica, accordion, and more. These opportunities fueled my desire to delve deeper into music production and creativity.
At a pivotal moment, I faced a choice: stay within my comfort zone back in my home country or push my creative boundaries and step into the wider world. After finishing high school, I completed a one-year program at university, earning my first degree as a multimedia technician. Here I also had my first chance to be a sound operator for something over than music. I did my first documentary for a client-based project. Here I learned new perspectives and work ethic, especially the fact that I was working closely with visual artists. After this internship, I applied to the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, where I found a space to challenge myself and explore new possibilities.
At the academy, I met inspiring artists, joined exciting projects, and embraced changes that helped me grow. These experiences deepened my passion for audio and collaboration, encouraging me to continually explore and push my limits.
Now, after three years of working on personal and collaborative projects, I feel more confident than ever in my creativity and artistic direction.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on a variety of exciting projects, ranging from music bands to short films and installations. Each project offers a new challenge, and I thrive on finding creative solutions that fit the unique needs of every client. My goal is to enhance the emotional impact of visual content with the sound that leaves a lasting impression.
When we work together, you can expect a collaborative, detail-oriented process where your vision comes first. I enjoy working with clients who are driven and ready to tell stories or share emotions. I’m always excited to explore new creative directions and to share some of mine.
Whether you’re looking for a full score, sound design, or audio engineering services, I'm always here ready to create something amazing together.
